2018 - WATER LILIES

For the piano I created in 2018, I took inspiration from Claude Monet's Water Lilies. His work has been the primary influence on my own Impressionist paintings and approach to color.

This time I wanted to use a decidedly painterly style as opposed to the more design-like motifs I've used in my previous piano designs.

The goal here was to cover the entire instrument, as if to create one large 3-D painting and achieve an overall tranquil setting. 

I was able to employ the lively brushstrokes that characterize the Impressionist style that I use in so many of my paintings.
